Global hotel chain InterContinental Hotels Group said 1,200 Hotels, including Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza, were victims of a three-month cyber attack that sought to steal customer payment card data. The company’s CEO declined to say how many payment cards were stolen in the attack.
The Malware searched for data stored on the magnetic strips, which includes; your name, card number, expiration date and internal verification code.
If you’ve traveled within the United States and stayed in a hotel anytime between September 29, 2016 to December 29, 2016 you may want to consider checking your statements for any suspicious or fraudulent activity.
